RESOLUTION
COMMENDING FLINT HILL CHRISTIAN SCHOOL FOR ITS SERVICE TO THE COMMUNITY

WHEREAS, we take pleasure in extending the highest commendation to Flint Hill Christian School which is a ministry of its sponsoring church, Flint Hill Baptist Church located in Bessemer, Alabama; and
WHEREAS, Flint Hill Christian School, which began operation in 1975 consisting of two K through 5 classes, now offers grades K through 12; and
WHEREAS, the physical plant of Flint Hill Christian School, through the able leadership of members of its sponsoring church and others, has been increased to include additional classrooms and athletic facilities; and
WHEREAS, Flint Hill Christian School’s students come from working, middle class Christian families from the communities all around the Bessemer area and the student body represents many churches; and,
WHEREAS, Flint Hill Christian School was the recipient of the 2009 Bessemer Business Award; and
WHEREAS, Flint Hill Christian School is dedicated to the highest standards and operates under an exemplary set of core values, seeking excellence in order to improve the quality of life for its student and community as exemplified in its mission statement which is to challenge young people to know Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, to live according to Biblical principles and to equip standards with the necessary knowledge and skills to serve others; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA, that Flint Hill Christian School is honored and commended for its outstanding record of achievement and service, and this resolution is offered in tribute of Flint Hill Christian School and its dedicated staff on behalf of the citizens of the State of Alabama

The Resolution was presented during Chapel on August 28, 2009. On-hand to accept the Resolution were Administrator Larry Pender, High School Principal Jason Handley, Elementary Principal Amanda Kleiser, Kindergarten Principal Valerie Wallace, FHBC Pastor Bruce McCartney and Nick and Sybil Lamons.
